The Insights dashboard gives you a bird’s-eye view of how all your guides are performing.

The Insights dashboard is available on Pro and Team plans.
Accessing the Insights dashboard
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click the Insights tab in the navigation
Summary cards
At the top of the dashboard, you’ll see four key metrics:
Total Views
The total number of times any of your guides were opened during the selected time period.
Completions
How many times readers finished all steps of any guide.
Completion Rate
The overall percentage of viewers who completed a guide:
Completion Rate = (Total Completions ÷ Total Views) × 100
Step Views
The total number of individual steps viewed across all guides. This helps you understand overall engagement depth.
Time range selector
Choose how far back to view data:
- 7 days — Recent performance
- 30 days — Monthly overview (default)
- 90 days — Quarterly trends
Daily activity chart
The chart shows views and completions over time, helping you identify:
- Traffic patterns (weekday vs weekend)
- Impact of sharing or promotion
- Seasonal trends
Hover over any bar to see exact numbers for that day.
Top Guides
See which guides are getting the most views. Use this to:
- Identify your most popular content
- Find guides to promote further
- Understand what topics resonate with your audience
Traffic Sources
Understand where your views come from:
Public Pages
Direct visits to your guide URLs. These come from:
- Shared links
- Social media posts
- Search engines
- Your public profile
Embeds
Views from guides embedded on other websites using the embed code.
Widgets
Views from guides opened through Stepsies widgets installed on websites.
Top Domains
See which websites are sending you the most traffic. This shows:
- Where your embeds and widgets are installed
- Which sites drive the most engagement
- Opportunities for partnerships

Identify trends
Look at the daily chart to spot patterns:
- Consistent weekday traffic? Your audience is professionals
- Weekend spikes? Consumer audience
- Sudden drops? Check for technical issues
Double down on winners
Your top guides show what content works. Create more guides on similar topics.
Optimize traffic sources
If most views come from one source, consider:
- Mostly public pages — Focus on SEO and sharing
- Mostly embeds — Reach out to more sites for embedding
- Mostly widgets — Expand widget installations
